From playing bass in a reputable blues band at 15, to hosting a full summer of music at Captain Nicks of Block Island for almost a decade, finding Rob on some form of stage has not been an impossible task. Averaging around 200 shows a year, ranging in genres and variety of projects, Rob constantly strives to grow as a musician, and maintain a level of professionalism that is needed more in this industry.

Born and raised in Cranston Rhode Island, Rob found his way to music at the age of 10, attempting to learn the ropes of his rock-n-roll heroes. It was not till high school that he found his voice and then a band of his closest friends, which would spark his path of being a working musician. At 19, Rob had already achieved playing many of the popular rooms and venues in the area, as well as finding work with other general business bands, keeping himself more than busy during his years at The University of Rhode Island.

Rob has spent countless hours embracing his craft, shaping his solo acoustic performances to be more than unique. Tackling a monstrous songbook that grows daily, Rob has the ability to play almost any room for almost any crowd just him and a guitar. From a restaurant or cocktail hour, to a big stage and sea of singing patrons, Rob is able to work any crowd appropriately to cater to the needs of those involved.

Since 2013, Rob has been a resident musician for Captain Nicks, located on Block Island, a small island off the Rhode Island Coast. The island, which harbors a small loving community year-round, is a destination hotspot for summer travelers. From the rich and famous to the average day-tripper, the island welcomes all to its hidden breathtaking views and well-known sites for live music. Every weekend for the summer, an ocean-air venue carries the tune of Rob or one of his projects to the masses that come to visit the beautiful place each year.

Rob currently fronts his own band, “The Rob Davis Band,” a 6-piece band that keeps the spirit of a horn section alive and well. With the traditions of high energy rock-n-roll, combined with the blistering musical creativity and improvisation, The Rob Davis Band is not to be confused with your average local cover band. Rob has also performed/recorded with some of the areas best, including acts such as Straight Outta Rehab (Every Friday for the Summer at “The Landing” in Newport!), Wicked Petty (Tom Petty Tribute), Billy and the Jets (Billy Joel/Elton John Tribute), Mystic Dead (renowned Grateful Dead Tribute), Dr Westchesterson, The Young Guns (Captain Nicks’ legendary Sunday House Band), hosting a weekly Grateful Dead House Band, Hotel Dead, and several more.

Rob is available for booking of solo or band acts for bars/venues, private parties and/or weddings, as well as, virtual lessons, studio sessions and even basic guitar repair. If you would like to inquire about a future booking of any kind, please contact Rob via email on the contact page, and a reply will be sent promptly.
